We were particularly interested in Xiaomi because the Chinese brand has been installed in France for almost a year and a half, with a large catalog of products. Note that the audience generated by Xiaomi products increased by 110% in one year on Frandroid, an audience already substantial in 2018. This shows that the Chinese company has not been unemployed this year …

Redmi Note 7, Mi 9, Redmi Note 8T and the Redmi Note 8 Pro
As you know, if you have already read this dossier, Xiaomi has managed to climb into the ranking of the most popular smartphones of the year with 4 of the 20 most popular products. We find the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, a 2018 smartphone that offers excellent value for money, then the Xiaomi Mi 9 which has established itself as an alternative to the OnePlus 7 and finally the two Redmi Note 8T and the Redmi Note 8 Pro who are expected to maintain their position in 2020.

For everyone else, lovers of design devices, good gaming performance, those who want excellent autonomy or a highly customizable interface, there is the Xiaomi Mi 9T.
This undoubtedly explains its popularity, its only point being the average photography and the brand of little extras found on the high end, such as wireless charging for example. Between 300 and 330 euros (sold and shipped by Cdiscount) … hard to beat for this price.

Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro
The Redmi K20 follows closely, it is the Mi 9T Pro in France. In reality, nothing surprising: with the Snapdragon 855 inside, a Super AMOLED screen, a large battery, it is surely one of the best value for money of the year.

The test is also very good: it will surely be better to try to find these additional 40 euros to recover the Mi 9T Pro than to be satisfied with the Mi 9T, if the arguments of the first have already seduced you. For the photo, we will continue to recommend others, like the Pixel 3A.

Xiaomi Mi 9 SE
The Mi 9 SE was announced alongside the Mi 9 during the Mobile World Congress: we recognize it thanks to its shell and its funky glow (called holographic spectrum) in blue or purple. The big difference with the Mi 9 is the presence of the Snapdragon 712 instead of the Snapdragon 855. It is a variant of the Snapdragon 710.

It was awarded 8/10 and it was one of the alternatives to the very popular Galaxy A50: The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE is really a very good smartphone. Its compact shape and very light weight make it really pleasant to handle in everyday life, while its excellent AMOLED screen offers a multimedia experience more than comfortable.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3
Announced at the end of 2018, the Mi Mix 3 did not meet the success it deserved: its originality could be scary. It has an edgeless and notchless screen, the camera is activated by a manual sliding system. Slider fashion has not returned, but this Mi Mix 3 marked the editorial staff: The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 succeeds in being an original smartphone in a market where its competitors are more and more alike. The return of the slider is here perfectly successful, both in its construction and its use, leaving room for a large sublime screen.

We tested the Pro version this year: The Mi Scooter Pro is very pleasant to drive and provides good sensations. The new scooter from Xiaomi does not revolutionize the previous model, but brings a lot of significant innovations. This is a small evolution that brings together lots of good ideas: more power, more autonomy, more comfort, more security. The downside is that its weight increases by about 2 kg, making it difficult to transport.
Next year, the Mi Note 10 could climb the rankings. Xiaomi warned us all the same: there will be a lot of tests to be carried out in 2020 … so it will be jostling at the gate.
