OnLeaks gives us a first look at the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro. We see a very particular screen, with the 4 curved edges.
The Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro are expected to be unveiled in Paris at the end of March 2020. Until then, we still have time to learn a lot about those who will have the heavy task of succeeding those who are among the best smartphones of 2019, but probably without Google Play Services. In the meantime, the famous Onleaks is already starting to give some indications.
In partnership with 91mobiles, the famous leaker reveals part of the design of smartphones. The slightly dark side of the images, however, leaves a gray area on certain elements.
The images reveal a large curved screen on the 4 edges, with a very generous angle on the sides, and a small curvature at the top and bottom. No doubt, if this design is proven, the Huawei P40 should display a pretty screen-to-body ratio. We still note the presence of the ON / OFF button, but also the volume keys, absent from the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. This is also a good thing, since the double tapping adjustment function is far from having convinced us. Note also the presence of a USB-C port, but the absence of a 3.5 mm jack port – which is no longer really a surprise in 2020.
Towards standardization of the camera?
The highlight is obviously the photo module. We see here a long prominent rectangle in the upper left corner of the back cover, capable of containing many objectives. We should expect a multitude of sensors, as it seems to be the fashion for 2020. In this line, we can for example mention the Samsung Galaxy S11, or the Samsung Galaxy A71, recently formalized.
According to information from OnLeaks, the Huawei P40 would be equipped with a screen of 6.1 or 6.2 inches diagonally, compared to 6.5 to 6.7 inches for the Huawei P40 Pro. The brand also promises improved photo quality, better performance and improved autonomy. But to find out, it will take a few more months.
